In Switzerland several startups are leading the revolution in electromobility.

These emerging companies provide key solutions to improve infrastructure, accessibility, and efficiency in the use of electric vehicles.

From optimizing urban parking to developing next-generation batteries, Mobility Portal Europe has compiled the 13 Swiss startups driving a cleaner and more sustainable future in electric mobility.

8inks

8inks has developed a revolutionary solution for next-generation battery production through its patented multi-layer curtain coating technology, which overcomes current production limitations.

Riccardo Rodighiero, Battery Engineer at 8inks.

This innovation enables faster battery manufacturing with higher energy density and lower costs, making them a viable option for mass applications in both land and air transport.

Riccardo Rodighiero, Battery Engineer at the company, commented to Mobility Portal Europe: “8inks is at the forefront of battery technology with our innovative process for electrode production.”

“Our mission is to create better batteries for the Ter(r)a-Scale through a cost-efficient and smart manufacturing technology that allows for layered electrode designs” that part all together,” he adds.

eCarUp AG

Despite the growing interest in electric vehicles, many traditional drivers are still hesitant to switch, primarily due to the lack of available charging infrastructure.

Fabian Trinkler, Co-Founder and CEO at eCarUp with their product.

eCarUp addresses this challenge with a shared economy platform that allows charge point owners to easily manage and share their charging stations cost-effectively.

The app makes it easy for drivers to find available stations and for owners to monetize their chargers.

Additionally, eCarUp offers an advanced load management system based on real-time data, enabling automatic billing according to electricity consumption.

They currently have more than 200 stations integrated into their network and expect significant revenue growth this year.

ElectricFeel AG

ElectricFeel is a startup that provides a complete solution for launching profitable and sustainable electric vehicle fleets.

By combining world-class technology with industry expertise, they support entrepreneurs and transport operators in building micromobility businesses that benefit both cities and the environment.

ElectricFeel partners with local entrepreneurs and transport operators to ensure cities adopt greener mobility without causing disruptions.

E.Ride

E.Ride designs and manufactures connected electric mobility solutions in both Switzerland and Zambia.

Their vehicles are powered by portable solar batteries, which can also be used as off-grid energy sources, making them a versatile option for sectors ranging from agriculture to disaster relief.

Grivix

Grivix is developing technologies to offer a fast and human interaction-free electric charging experience for sectors such as automotive, mining, marine, and aviation, revolutionizing the way users charge their vehicles.

Kolbev GmbH

Kolbev offers an innovative robotic electric vehicle charging system with energy storage, which parking operators and large companies can use without the need for fixed infrastructure.

Users simply park their vehicle and request the charge through an app, greatly simplifying the process.

This system, based on proprietary and patent-pending technology, allows for easy scaling of charging infrastructure in cities with high electric vehicle penetration.

Megalog

Megalog is designed to prevent common issues in metering projects, such as errors or data loss, which can lead to the failure of these projects.

Its system allows for bidirectional data flows to interact with remote actors, making it ideal for managing energy balances in the industry and electric mobility.

PlugX GmbH

PlugX transforms any energy source into a publicly accessible charging point.

The platform connects energy providers with users, decentralizing the charging infrastructure.

In an Airbnb-style approach, it allows owners to share their surplus energy, whether through wallboxes for electric vehicles or conventional sockets for electric bikes.

Share.P – Sustainable Mobility Solutions

Founded in late 2020, Share.P is a fast-growing startup that has developed an innovative plug-and-play solution to optimize urban parking in a sustainable way.

Mateusz Wojdylo, Founder of the company.

By automating the process of renting parking spaces, Share.P not only generates significant savings for owners but also boosts the growth of EV charging and helps ease congestion in urban neighbourhoods.

The mobile app, available in six languages, allows users to book and access parking spaces and charging points with their smartphones.

Internationally recognized, Share.P won the gold medal at the 2022 Scaleup Games Global Final in Birmingham, beating nearly 20 innovative tech companies.

“The reason why I started Share.P is because I had a problem and I wanted to fix it. I could not find a solution in the market, so I built it myself,” revealed Mateusz Wojdylo, founder of the company, to Mobility Portal Europe.

TailoredMotor

TailoredMotor offers customized electric motors that are made to order and tailored to the client’s exact specifications, with power ranges between 50 watts and 50 kilowatts.

Thanks to its digital platform, customers can configure their motor, receive a 3D model for integration into their designs, and get the product delivered in just three days.

With highly integrated and automated processes, TailoredMotor successfully reduces costs and delivery times, effectively competing with other providers in small-batch production.
