The public transportation in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, will be significantly reinforced as it will receive up to 35 new Škoda 33Tr trolleybuses, with a total value of nearly 700 million Czech crowns.
Deliveries will take place between 2025 and 2026.
This order further strengthens the successful cooperation between the manufacturer and the Transport Company of the City of České Budějovice, which has been ongoing for three decades.
“This contract is very important for us for the renewal of the vehicle fleet. It is also the largest investment in the history of the transport company, which will bring the most modern means of transport to our passengers and thus improve and enhance public transport in our city,” says Slavoj Dolejš, Director and Chairman of the Board of the Transport Company of the City of České Budějovice.
There are currently a total of 57 trolleybuses in operation in the southern Bohemian capital, all manufactured by the Škoda Group.
The new 33Tr vehicles are articulated 18-meter trolleybuses equipped with a modern information and onboard system.
Passengers can look forward to spacious and air-conditioned interiors, making city travel even more comfortable.
The new vehicles will be equipped with traction batteries for a minimum range of 12 km, allowing them to comfortably operate even on sections without overhead wires.
To enhance safety, a modern camera system will also be installed.
“We are extremely pleased that we can further develop our already strong relationships with České Budějovice – a city that is home to almost 60 Škoda trolleybuses. We are prepared to provide its residents with reliable and sustainable public transport solutions,” said Karel Majer, Chairman of the Board of Škoda Electric in the Škoda Group.
“Škoda 33Tr trolleybuses represent a shift not only in transport but also in providing an exceptional experience to every passenger,” Majer added.
