A few days ago, 3M officially launched its new programme, “Innovative Graphics for EV Charging Stations”, across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
This program is designed to support electric vheicle (EV) infrastructure operators by transforming charging stations into visually compelling, functional, and customer-friendly destinations.
According to industry forecasts, electric vehicle sales in Europe are projected to surge by 49% in 2025, with EVs expected to account for 55% of global vehicle sales by 2030.
To meet this demand, Europe’s public EV charging infrastructure is set to expand from 0.5 million units in 2022 to seven million by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27%.
As EV adoption accelerates, the need for accessible, safe, and engaging charging environments becomes critical.
That’s where 3M’s graphics solutions come in.
The programme offers the following features:
- Branding and protection: Graphic films that enable personalisation while protecting stations from UV rays, scratches, and graffiti — reducing downtime and enhancing visual appeal.
- Wayfinding and safety: Illuminated signage and traffic solutions that improve visibility and navigation, enhancing user safety.
- Commercial space enhancement: Interior and exterior decoration solutions that support surrounding businesses such as cafés, shops, or lounges, adding value to the overall EV hub.
Following its rollout in EMEA, 3M plans to expand the programme globally, with a particular focus on high-growth markets such as China and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where EV infrastructure is rapidly evolving.
