Various charging infrastructure producers from China are deploying their products across Europe.

In fact, firms from the Asian giant are reportedly establishing themselves, in some cases, above national brands, mostly due to their lower costs.

Who are the major manufacturers making their mark on the European market? Below, Mobility Portal Europe shares the details.

Autel

The company, headquartered in Shenzhen, also has offices in the United States, Italy, Germany, and Singapore. However, it has a presence in over 70 countries and regions.

Autel leads in the development and sale of intelligent automotive diagnostic, inspection, and analysis products and solutions, as well as related electronic accessories.

They also offer residential chargers, namely, the Alternative Current (AC) Wallbox and AC Compact, equipment with a power of up to 22 kilowatts and seven times faster than a traditional home charger.

The charger manufacturer also has more powerful commercial devices for sale, such as the Direct Current (DC) HiPower, DC Fast, and DC Compact, among others.

Moreover, in April of this year, during the Nordic EV Summit, Autel previewed to Mobility Portal Europe the launch of the Maxicharger Megawatt Charging System (MCS).

This solution boasts a remarkable megawatt maximum power along with satellite compatibility, ensuring seamless integration.

BENY New Energy

The manufacturer of protection elements for photovoltaic systems primarily focuses on creating direct current (DC) solar components that meet the latest standards.

BENY New Energy is based in Zhejiang province and currently offers EV charging infrastructure and battery storage located in Australia, Germany, France, Poland, the UK, the USA, Brazil, South Africa, the Philippines, Thailand, Middle Eastern countries, and others.

The company not only markets chargers for homes and DC but also solar protection solutions for photovoltaic panels (PV) and DC and AC solar cells that work to prevent overvoltage.

Furthermore, they announced the expansion of their production to the Nordic countries, as the region boasts abundant solar energy resources.

Growatt

The firm was established in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China.

Growatt’s residential charger, called ‘Thor’.

Growatt‘s Research and Development (R&D) team is dedicated to bringing innovations in photovoltaic energy products.

Their wide range of solutions includes energy storage systems, EV chargers, and smart energy management solutions.

The company is also known for its rapid growth (Shenzhen Speed), taking only 18 months from its founding to become known as a popular manufacturer of smart inverters.

The corporation’s contemporary priority lies in doubling its sales in Chile during 2024, as well as expanding its solar portfolio with the introduction of NEO microinverters in Latin America.

GSS Power

The company based in Alicante offers advanced and effective solutions addressing current challenges in Spain.

It’s worth noting that the solutions manufacturer arose from the need to overcome obstacles such as the shortage of charging infrastructure, high installation costs, and delays in implementation by energy companies.

Additionally, GSS Power focuses on building an accessible charging network to transform the landscape of electric mobility charging in the country.

Currently, the corporation is immersed in the development of a charger with a battery capacity exceeding 500 kilowatt-hours and an output power exceeding 300 kilowatts.

The remarkable aspect of this project is that these specifications will open up new market opportunities for the company, particularly in segments such as trucks and trailers, which require higher capacity batteries than conventional cars.

Huawei

The company stands out as a leading global provider of digital energy products and solutions.

It covers fields of clean energy generation, creating new renewable systems, and infrastructure, building low-carbon data centres and communication networks, and eco-friendly transportation, accelerating the electrification of mobility.

Huawei FusionSolar EV Charger.

Based in Shenzhen, Huawei Digital Power offers various products and solutions, such as Solar Fusion banks, DC power supplies, and the Drive-ONE software, an artificial intelligence-based digital domain management.

As the company’s latest addition, a smart residential photovoltaic solution for homes was launched, including the Huawei LUNA S1 storage system.

This solution also includes an intelligent energy controller and module, which increase electricity generation by up to 30 percent and achieve integrated intelligent management of photovoltaic energy, storage, charging, and usage.

Sinexcel

Sinexcel, a leading brand in power electronics technology, aims to control and optimize electrical energy in its various forms, including AC, DC, frequency, and voltage.

The company’s headquarters are located in Shenzhen, covering an area of 14,000 square metres.

Additionally, the company is listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM).

It is important to mention that it has research and development centres in Shenzhen and Xi’an, along with manufacturing bases in Huizhou and Suzhou, spanning six continents such as Asia, Oceania, Europe, North America, South America, and Africa.

Its business strategy focuses on reactive power compensation, improving energy quality, and developing chargers for EVs.

As a global technology leader and influential brand, Sinexcel has expanded its overseas operations in the past decade, providing DC charging systems and consolidating its position in the international market.

Star Charge

The firm, headquartered in the industrial province of Jiangsu, East China, positions itself as a global leader in energy and charging solutions for electric cars.

Star Charge DC Charger.

From state-of-the-art chargers to energy storage systems and advanced management software, Star Change offers a wide range of AC and DC equipment, charging connectors, power modules, cabinets, and battery storage systems.

Additionally, its software portfolio includes cloud platforms, smartphone applications, and intelligent energy management systems.

It’s worth mentioning that last month, the largest EV charging station in Budapest was inaugurated, equipped with Star Charge’s AC chargers.

Located at Metrodome River Park, it is the real estate development with the highest electric vehicle charging capacity in Hungary.

Recently, Star Charge signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Schneider Electric with the aim of establishing a joint venture to “revolutionise” smart energy infrastructures in Europe.
