Compleo UK has won a tender with Islington Council.
Over the next two years, the company will install a range of AC, DC, and high-speed EV chargers to support the council’s fully electric fleet of over 550 vehicles, including everything from electric cars to coaches and tipper trucks.
The majority of the new chargers will be installed at the council’s recycling and waste centre on Cottage Road, Islington, which serves as a hub for its operational vehicles.
The installation will provide fast, efficient, and reliable charging to keep its essential fleet running smoothly and ensure seamless service for residents.

The first EV chargers will be installed in early 2025, with the full installation process set to be completed over two years.
As part of the successful tender, led by TPPL, Compleo will also help Islington Council maintain its reputation as one of the most forward-thinking and environmentally friendly councils through several innovative green projects.
Matthew Downs, Business Development Director at Compleo UK, says: “We are delighted to support a forward-thinking council like Islington. They are always seeking sustainable solutions, and we are proud to provide them with future-proof EV charging solutions.”
Councillor Rowena Champion, Executive Member for Environment, Air Quality and Transport, states: “We are committed to creating a greener, healthier Islington, and this partnership with Compleo is a vital step in reducing our carbon footprint and improving air quality for our residents. By electrifying our fleet, we are leading by example and demonstrating that sustainability and efficiency can go hand in hand.”
“Compleo’s expertise and innovative charging solutions will help ensure our services operate in the most environmentally friendly way possible.”
