The network has grown by 60% in two years. In Q1 2025 alone, over 1,600 new stations were added. Half of the new installations are fast or ultra-fast.
As of March 31, 2025, Italy has 65,992 public charging points for electric vehicles. This marks an increase of 11,828 units over the past 12 months and 1,601 since the beginning of the year.
Compared to 2023, the total has grown by more than 60%.

Fifty percent of the newly installed chargers over the past year are fast or ultra-fast. Currently, 15.8% of installed points are still awaiting grid connection.
The distribution of charging infrastructure is concentrated in the north (57%), followed by the centre (20%) and the south and islands (23%).
In terms of power, 50,931 chargers deliver less than 50 kW, 10,831 between 50 and 149 kW, and 4,230 exceed 150 kW.
Along the motorway network, 1,108 charging points are operational, nearly doubling in two years. Of these, 86% are DC chargers and 64% offer over 150 kW.
At present, 45.5% of motorway service areas are equipped with charging infrastructure.
