Renault Group and Iberdrola have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their partnership in advancing energy transition and electromobility in Spain.
The agreement was signed by Josep MarÃa Recasens, President and General Manager of Renault Group Iberia, and Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola España.
The alliance outlines joint initiatives in energy efficiency, electric mobility, and the development of charging infrastructure.
Under the agreement, customers purchasing a 100% electric vehicle from Renault, Dacia or Alpine will receive up to 10,000 kilometres per year of free home charging for three years, enabled by the installation of a Mobilize charger.
Additional benefits include competitive financing through Mobilize Financial Services and a 100% renewable electricity contract for their household provided by Iberdrola.
The cooperation also involves the implementation of advanced energy solutions at the Renault Group’s Hybridisation Hub in Spain, including long-term renewable energy contracts (PPAs), self-consumption systems, energy storage, electrification, and the use of green hydrogen in industrial processes.
Both companies will collaborate on the development of smart charging technologies, enabling vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functionalities and the capability for vehicles to power the customer’s home.
Customers will also be able to further optimise energy usage and reduce electricity bills with Iberdrola’s Advanced Smart Assistant (ASA), which adjusts vehicle charging to the household’s characteristics and the local energy system.
Additionally, the agreement includes plans to install charging points at Renault Group facilities and in customers’ homes, with a particular focus on users of the Mobilize brand.
