Xanh SM to deploy 1,300 EVs and 1,000 chargers in Nghe An

The partnership with CK Vietnam and V-Green aims to expand the electric mobility ecosystem in the province.

On June 21, 2025, Xanh SM, V-Green (both part of the Vingroup ecosystem), and CK Vietnam JSC announced a cooperation to develop a fully electric transport model in Nghe An province. The plan includes the deployment of 300 electric buses, 1,000 electric cars, and the installation of 1,000 charging points.

Under the agreement, Xanh SM will provide CK Vietnam with 300 Ebus electric buses to operate the first green public transport routes in the province. These buses are equipped with active monitoring systems, smart travel displays, integrated Wi-Fi, and deliver a quiet, zero-emission ride to improve air quality and passenger experience.

The project’s initial focus includes interprovincial routes, particularly between Nghe An and Ha Tinh, which CK aims to launch as early as Q3 2025.

In addition to the buses, Xanh SM will supply 1,000 electric vehicles for commercial transport services. The fleet includes:

VinFast Limo Green for interprovincial travel and premium tourism.

Herio Green for standard taxi services.

EC Van, a compact electric truck for urban deliveries.

All services operated by CK Vietnam will be integrated into the Xanh SM mobile app, enabling users to book, track, and pay seamlessly. The platform will also support CK’s operational efficiency through nationwide system integration.

Charging infrastructure with V-Green

In parallel with the delivery of 1,300 electric vehicles, CK Vietnam will partner with V-Green Global Charging Station Development to build a network of 1,000 chargers across strategic locations in Nghe An.

The charging points will be deployed at shopping centres, bus terminals, residential areas, and along key economic corridors. All stations will utilize smart dispatching technology to support the province’s shift toward a sustainable energy infrastructure.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Van Thanh, CEO of GSM Global, emphasized: “This is not just a commercial transaction but a strategic move in Vietnam’s national transition to green transport.”

Nguyen Thanh Duong, CEO of V-Green, added: “Charging infrastructure plays a central role in any electrified transport ecosystem. We are committed to working with CK Vietnam and Xanh SM to deploy 1,000 chargers swiftly and ensure long-term operational stability.”

Nguyen Van Ket, Chairman of CK Vietnam, stated: “This cooperation gives us access to cutting-edge technology and efficient operations, contributing to Nghe An’s sustainable and civilised development.”

The alliance between Xanh SM, V-Green, and CK Vietnam is part of a broader effort by Vingroup-affiliated companies to scale up zero-emission transport networks nationwide, supporting Vietnam’s long-term sustainability goals.
