Chargecloud becomes full member of EVRoaming Foundation to strengthen interoperability across Europe

The German software provider joins the organisation behind OCPI, reinforcing its commitment to open standards and seamless EV charging across borders.

Chargecloud GmbH, a leading SaaS provider in the eMobility space, has joined the EVRoaming Foundation as a full member.

Based in the Netherlands, the foundation promotes open interfaces and transparency in order to foster interoperability between mobility service providers and charging operators across Europe.

The EVRoaming Foundation is the governing body behind the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) – an open, vendor-neutral protocol that enables direct communication between charge point operators (CPOs) and eMobility service providers (EMPs).

OCPI allows both bilateral roaming agreements and hub-based connections, offering technical and commercial flexibility for all stakeholders.

Through its platform, Chargecloud already facilitates smooth access to thousands of charging points across Europe.

With this move, the company aims to take a more active role in shaping the future of open EV infrastructure.

“Our mission is to simplify access to international markets for our partners and deliver a seamless charging experience for EV drivers—open, interoperable, and future-ready,” says Markus Bach, CEO of Chargecloud.

“As a provider of scalable eMobility software, we believe in not just adopting industry standards, but actively contributing to their evolution,” he adds.

As a new member, Chargecloud will collaborate with other stakeholders in EVRoaming Foundation’s working groups, bringing its expertise in protocol integration and interoperability to the table.

The foundation welcomed Chargecloud’s decision as a positive signal for the growing relevance of open standards in the sector.

“Chargecloud brings a wealth of market experience, strong technical capabilities, and a clear focus on practical solutions,” states Michel Bayings, Managing Director of the EVRoaming Foundation.

“We’re pleased to see key players not only implementing OCPI, but also taking an active part in its continued development,” he adds.

The partnership marks a new step in building a more transparent and interconnected charging ecosystem across Europe.
