In its second edition, Global Mobility Call introduces its inaugural GMC Awards.
These awards aim to recognize sustainability among participants, the most innovative initiatives in passenger and freight transport, companies with outstanding technological solutions, and individuals with notable professional contributions to sustainable mobility.
The awards, featuring categories such as Sustainable Engagement (for exhibitors and partners with stands at GMC Expo Space), Last Mile Challenge by Las Rozas Innova, INNOWINNER Award by GMC, and PERSONALITY Award by GMC, will be presented during the Global Mobility Call event from October 24 to 26 at the IFEMA MADRID Exhibition Center, which Mobility Portal Europe will attend.
Sustainable Engagement Award
The Sustainable Engagement Award, available for exhibitors and partners with stands at the GMC Expo Space, will highlight best practices aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
It aims to incentivize innovation, rigor in result measurement, and, especially, the contribution to making participation in a fair exemplary in terms of sustainability.
The award will evaluate the impact of exhibitors’ actions, their level of innovation, the effort in their implementation, and the boost they provide to the development of a sustainability culture within the trade fair and congress sector.
The winners will be announced on October 26, and the number of awarded candidates will be determined by the jury. The deadline for submissions is October 24 at 3:00 PM.
Last Mile Challenge by Las Rozas Innova
The Last Mile Challenge by Las Rozas Innova seeks to identify and reward original and scalable initiatives that help make the mobility of people and the logistics of goods in cities more sustainable and efficient.
The call for participation will be open until September 22. The 6 finalists will have the opportunity to present their solutions, ideas, and projects.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 25 as part of Global Mobility Call, and the 2 winning projects will share prizes worth more than €30,000.
 INNOWINNER Award by GMC
The INNOWINNER Award by GMC will identify and recognize innovative technological solutions from anywhere in the world that contribute to improving the sustainable mobility ecosystem and have been functioning, at least as a pilot, for a maximum of 3 years.
The online call will be open until October 2.
The award consists of recognition from the GMC community, the presentation of an award during the event, and the opportunity to showcase the project at GMC 2024.
PERSONALITY Award by GMC
The PERSONALITY Award by GMC will recognize the personal dedication and contribution to sustainable mobility of a professional whose work has contributed to the integrity and prestige of the profession, as well as advancing the study and/or development of sustainability in this field.
Candidates will be selected by the Executive Committee and experts from the Program Committee, and the award ceremony will take place during the event from October 24 to 26, 2023.
Global Mobility Call, organized by IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda, will be structured in two segments: GMC Congress Space, where business leaders, institutions, and mobility experts will gather, and GMC Expo Space, where multisectoral relationships between companies, institutions, associations, and experts will be promoted, and the latest developments in each sector will be presented.
