The spanish company EVUS Energy aims to quintuple its charger production in 2024

In just two years, EVUS Energy has successfully established itself in the Spanish electric vehicle charging sector and plans to sustain its growth in alignment with market trends. What do users demand?

EVUS Energy has entered the eMobility sector with a residential charger offering targeted at electric vehicle owners.

However, dynamic market demand has driven the company to develop direct current solutions, including increasingly powerful power ranges.

Specifically, the proposal covers from 30 kilowatts to 360 kilowatts.

In just two years, the company has tripled its turnover.

“The expectation for this year is to almost quintuple the number of units we will manufacture,” details Carmen Furió, founder of the firm, and Alvaro Casañ, Production Director, to Mobility Portal España.

EVUS Energy operates primarily in the markets of Spain, Portugal, and Andorra, with plans to expand to France and Italy in the coming years.

Currently, its flagship product is the HUB 240, a unit that is part of its modular series.

It is a central power unit of 240 kilowatts designed to supply up to eight charging points with dynamic balancing.

In this way, it allows the simultaneous connection and charging of two to eight vehicles in a super-fast mode.

The start and end of charging can be done through the app or by using RFID cards.

Furthermore, it facilitates payment management through the OCPP platform, allowing prepaid card options or app with self-invoicing of consumed energy.

Its versatility positions it as an ideal option for fleet companies, for example, which will progressively incorporate electric vehicles as needs grow in the coming years.

“They can increase the number of charging points without the need to increase power, using the same 240 kilowatt unit,” they emphasize.

Not only that, but EVUS Energy is also venturing into the field of energy storage units.

One of the potential challenges in Spain and the rest of the continent could arise from the insufficient energy capacity to meet the demand for charging points.

Especially in a context where electric car users increasingly demand fast-charging equipment.

Anticipating a scenario where the majority of vehicles in circulation will be electric, which could lead to a collapse in the grid, the company plans to introduce a new flagship product soon.

This will not only enable energy storage but also offer bidirectional functionalities.

“The generated energy can be used directly through the chargers or transferred to the building or facility, with the purpose of offering green energy and ensuring that each owner has the necessary capacity,” they explain.

This would also address the extensive delays that installers experience in receiving electrical supply from energy distributors.

The launch of this innovation is scheduled for this year, and Mobility Portal España will be attentive to share the updates.

What trend does EVUS Energy identify in the sector?

So far, the company’s main focus was on residential charging, focusing on alternating current chargers with a capacity of up to 22 kilowatts.

This year, there has been a shift in trend towards high-speed direct current chargers, with power ranging from 120 to 180 kilowatts.

“Users are increasingly demanding to charge their cars in less than 20 minutes, in the most efficient and fast way possible,” they assert.

In contrast, a product line that is losing relevance in their range is EVISION.

This consists of two chargers with high-resolution screens of 43 and 55 inches, designed to project images and videos.

These units are ideal for shopping malls, restaurants, or parking lots, for advertising purposes.

However, this series “is not achieving the results we expected it to have.”

One of the reasons for the decline in interest in this product lies in the market’s changing preferences towards other options, in addition to the possible increase in price.

Although it could also be due to the reluctance of owners, who are concerned about vandalism that could affect the chargers, either through screen breakage, physical damage, or graffiti.

“This product has been in our catalog for two and a half years, and sales have been minimal. Possibly this year, we may consider removing it from the catalog,” they indicate.

In this context, the company constantly strives to adapt and anticipate market trends.

Therefore, they seek to provide guidance to their customers, guiding them not only towards planning their short-term needs but also towards long-term considerations.
