Production of electric cars at the Volkswagen (VW) plant in Emden will pause due to supply shortages from a supplier, as announced by a spokesperson on Friday.
Accordingly, vehicles will not be manufactured from Monday to Friday.
Due to stagnant demand, VW in Emden had already halted production of both combustion engine models and electric cars for two days at the beginning of February.
Furthermore, combustion engine production is set to be halted for the entire month of March due to start-up preparations and renovations for the planned production of the Arteon Shooting Brake combustion model.
On Thursday, production of the Passat and Arteon combustion models in Emden ended as scheduled.
In the future, only electric cars will be manufactured in Emden.
