EnBW has set a record: it now boasts 5,000 operational fast charging points across Germany.

The firm will continue to accelerate the expansion of its fast charging infrastructure, with an additional 1,000 units planned by the end of the year.

“We offer drivers the largest and most comprehensive fast charging infrastructure in Germany and use it to power electric cars from all brands,” says Colette Rückert-Hennen, board member of EnBW responsible for electric mobility.

“Our guiding principle is based on user needs: fast charging should be where they are – where they shop, park, or take a break on a long journey. Because charging is not the same as refuelling, and fast charging conveniently fits into people’s daily lives,” she adds.

At the same time, EnBW has accelerated its expansion pace.

“In the last six months, we have put into operation more fast charging points with up to 400 kilowatts of power than in the first half of last year,” states Jürgen Stein, Director of Innovation and New Businesses at EnBW, leading the electric mobility department.

“In this way, we significantly contribute to the success of the transition to mobility. Electric mobility is the most efficient and climate-friendly way to significantly reduce COâ‚‚ emissions in transportation,” he adds.

The energy company operates all its charging points with 100% green electricity.
