Recently, Alfen, a leader in energy solutions, including electric vehicle charging.explained the key features of its latest product, the Twin 5 Plus.

The presentation took place during the webinar “Alfen Day: Charging the Future: Innovative Solutions in Electric Vehicle Infrastructure,” organized in collaboration with Mobility Portal Europe.
“We had the opportunity to showcase our Twin 5 Plus at the MATELEC trade fair in Spain, where attendees were able to explore our full product portfolio,” explains Xavier Fazio de Araguás, Alfen’s Sales Manager for Spain and Portugal.
He continues: “Additionally, they gained insights into the various personalization options we offer, both in terms of technical customization and branding.”
One of the key features of the Twin 5 Plus is its full compliance with the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).
The company integrated a dynamic QR code for payments, eliminating the need for external devices that could potentially be vulnerable to fraud.

Additionally, the Twin 5 Plus is built for durability, featuring hardware that is fully compatible with ISO15118 and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology.
“At Alfen, we’ve been manufacturing chargers for more than 15 years, and some of our units installed over 12 years ago, including earlier versions of the Twin 5, are still running smoothly, both in terms of hardware and software” states the Sales Manager.
This product is also designed with robustness, weather resistance, and anti-vandalism features, making it perfectly suited for public charging environments.
Furthermore, it supports smart charging, offering features like Autocharge, Plug&Charge, and OCPP 2.0.1.
Another key highlight of the Twin 5 Plus is its exceptional user-friendliness.
It boasts a seven-inch color screen, easy configuration with updatable pricing via OCPP, and advanced smart functionality, including dynamic QR codes as required by AFIR.
“This model retains the core features of its predecessor but introduces the highly successful screen and RFID elements, which have proven popular in other charger models,” adds the Sales Manager.
