Electric mobility in Italy has reached a new milestone with the completion of two major EV charging hubs in Padua, made possible through the collaboration between TSG Italia and Atlante.
A total of 80 new charging points have been installed at the key intermodal car parks of Padova Nord (Vigodarzere) and Padova Sud (Guizza), positioning the region as a growing hub for sustainable transport infrastructure.

A smart mix of technology to serve diverse user needs
The infrastructure combines a variety of charging technologies tailored to both commuters and drivers in transit:
- 72 fast and ultra-fast DC charging points, offering power outputs of up to 150 kW;
- 8 AC charging points, delivering up to 22 kW.
This set-up accommodates a wide range of charging behaviours — from quick top-ups for drivers on the move, to longer sessions suited to local residents or those using park-and-ride services.
The solar-powered canopies not only shield the stations but also feed clean energy into the system, ensuring the entire network runs on electricity sourced from 100% renewable energy. This integrated approach reinforces the project’s environmental commitment.
A two-phase rollout with high-efficiency systems
The development was carried out in two distinct phases. The first, completed in 2022, saw the deployment of 16 ultra-fast 150 kW charging points at each site, along with the installation of photovoltaic canopies and dedicated transformer stations.
The medium-to-low voltage grid infrastructure was built in partnership with CD Elettrica, and features 630 kVA high-efficiency resin transformers, fully compliant with CEI-016 standards. An advanced monitoring system has been implemented, providing real-time data on performance and availability.
In November 2024, the network was expanded with the addition of 32 new 50 kW chargers at Padova Nord and 24 units at Padova Sud, further boosting capacity to meet the region’s rising demand for electric mobility.
Energy storage and intelligent management
At the Atlante stations, additional innovations have been introduced to optimise energy flow and reduce stress on the national grid.
Notably, 558 kWh battery storage systems have been installed by Ranzato Impianti, part of the TSG Group. Electrical cabins have also been upgraded to enable smarter and more efficient energy management.
Thanks to this enhanced infrastructure, Padua is now even closer to a fully electric future, with modern, reliable and renewable-powered EV charging solutions available to the public.
For TSG, this project reflects not only its ongoing support for sustainable mobility, but also its strategic role in driving the broader energy transition across Europe.
