BAUHAUS and the energy company EnBW are offering fast charging for electric vehicles nationwide at BAUHAUS specialist centre car parks in Germany.
This initiative not only demonstrates BAUHAUS’s commitment to sustainability but also enhances customer service to a new, more tailored level.
With over 450 fast-charging points at more than 85 locations across the country, BAUHAUS is one of the leading providers of e-charging infrastructure in German retail.
With an average charging time of around 27 minutes at EnBW’s fast chargers, this theoretically allows for 24,000 charging sessions per day.
Multitasking can be both relaxed and sustainable: strolling through a BAUHAUS specialist centre while your electric vehicle charges outside in the car park.
Following the motto “Charging at Shops,” BAUHAUS, in collaboration with the infrastructure and energy partner EnBW, offers this convenience.
Next year, the partners aim to reach 100 joint fast-charging locations with over 500 high-performance charging points.
At the same time, both firms plan to add additional fast-charging options to existing sites.
30,000 EnBW Fast-Charging Points by 2030
“Drivers charge their vehicles wherever they are parked, even without a home wallbox or a slow standard charging point nearby. People charge conveniently while they shop,” indicates Jürgen Stein, Chief Innovation & New Business Officer at EnBW, who also oversees the e-mobility sector.
And he continues: “BAUHAUS is a key partner for expanding our already largest fast-charging network in Germany.”
EnBW operates over 5,000 fast-charging points nationwide and aims to increase this number to approximately 30,000 by 2030.
The energy company invests about 200 million euros each year towards this goal.
But e-charging stations at the specialist centre car parks benefit not only BAUHAUS customers. Due to their convenient locations—often near main roads or motorways—they are also accessible for drivers who need to quickly charge during long journeys.
BAUHAUS Responds to Customer Demand and Continues to Expand E-Charging Infrastructure
Sebastian Kny, Project Manager for Construction and Planning at BAUHAUS, and responsible for e-charging infrastructure and e-mobility, says: “By providing public fast-charging infrastructure directly at BAUHAUS car parks, we are responding to the increasing needs of our customers in the field of e-mobility.”
“With the rise in e-vehicles on the road, the demand for charging options is also growing. With over 450 fast-charging points nationwide, BAUHAUS is already a pioneer in e-charging infrastructure in German retail,” he adds.
