ChargeUp Europe has announced the re-election of Erno Scheers, from Shell, as Chair of the Policy Committee, and Petar Georgiev, from AMPECO, as Vice-Chair.
Both will continue to lead efforts to develop EU regulatory frameworks that enable scalable investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
“It is my pleasure to continue collaboration across the membership to drive the EU policies that create the right enabling frameworks for EV adoption, allowing companies to make commercial investments in recharging infrastructure and services,” stated Scheers.
He also highlighted that delivering ChargeUp Europe’s workplan requires progress across various policy files.
Georgiev added: “My focus remains on translating our policy priorities into action, and fostering a regulatory environment that supports the growth of our sector across Europe.”
He emphasised the importance of an ecosystem approach that brings together policymakers and industry stakeholders to enable effective and scalable solutions.
The Communications Committee has undergone a role swap between two longstanding members. Maxwell Philp, from Plugsurfing, has taken over as Chair after previously serving as Vice-Chair, while Aaron Fishbone, from GreenWay EV Charging Network, moved from Chair to Vice-Chair.
“As e-mobility enters the mainstream and more and more people drive electric, the need to explain and demystify how the industry really works is ever more important,” said Philp.
He also praised the Communications Committee as “where some of the best communicators in the business work together”.
Fishbone stated: “I’m grateful to my colleagues at ChargeUp Europe for trusting me to help guide the thought leadership needed to inform decision-makers and society—and ensure this shift happens as quickly and smoothly as possible.”
According to the statement, this reshuffle aims to ensure continuity in the association’s communications work amid upcoming strategic events and campaigns.
ChargeUp Europe thanked all four leaders for their ongoing commitment and acknowledged the trust placed in them by the membership.
