Electra, a European operator of electric vehicle (EV) charging points (CPO), has opened the first fast-charging centre at a train station in Paris.
Located beneath the Gare de Lyon station, in the Méditerranée car park, which welcomes 400,000 visitors annually and provides direct access to TGV trains, the centre features eight charging points with power ranging from 150 to 200 kilowatts.
These are available to all EV users, both subscribers and visitors.
Additionally, 45 minutes of free parking is offered for charges made via the Electra mobile app.
It is worth noting that this project was developed in collaboration with Saemes, the second-largest parking operator in the Paris region and the fifth-largest in France.
Saemes serves 2.3 million customers annually and manages 70 car parks in Paris and Île-de-France, with a total of more than 27,000 spaces.
Finally, it is noteworthy that in addition to Electra’s stations, the Méditerranée Gare de Lyon car park, which has 1,600 spaces spread over six levels, has benefited from a significant investment programme of 2.4 million euros to deploy nearly 200 electric charging points, representing over 12% of its capacity.
