Electra opens first ultra-fast charging stations in Germany

The network now operates three sites near Munich and Dortmund, with plans to reach 30 locations across Germany and Spain by the end of 2025.

Electra has officially launched its first ultra-fast charging station in Germany, marking the company’s entry into the country’s highly competitive e-mobility market.

The inaugural site, located near Munich, was followed within days by the opening of two additional stations—bringing the total to three operational sites: two in the Munich area and one in Dortmund.

Each of the new stations is equipped with 400 kW chargers, providing EV users with high-speed charging capabilities and convenient access in urban locations.

The installations offer the full Electra service experience, consistent with what drivers already recognise from the brand in other parts of Europe.

According to the company, the rollout in Germany reflects its strategy of deploying scalable, user-centric charging infrastructure in key European markets. The first site is located in the city that also hosts Electra’s German headquarters and is described as urban, strategically placed and built to reflect the firm’s new station design concept.

Electra highlighted that the deployment process involved navigating local planning regulations, including environmental preservation rules. The company confirmed that the first location was completed without removing any trees, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development practices.

The German expansion follows two years of groundwork and team-building. The stations were developed in collaboration with Charge Construct, Electra’s infrastructure partner, and supported by the company’s local team. The firm noted that close coordination and a shared focus on quality were key to the project’s success.

The current expansion forms part of Electra’s broader plan to open 30 ultra-fast charging stations across Germany and Spain by the end of 2025. The network now operates in nine European countries.

With this milestone, Electra aims to establish itself as a leading player in the German EV charging market, offering the reliability and user experience that has characterised its growth elsewhere in Europe.
