The U.S. charging provider Electrify America highlights that demand for its equipment grew by 50% in 2024.
This year, the company aims to expand its network by another 30%, prioritizing larger charging stations with battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions to help mitigate demand.
Notably, the operator acknowledges that after expanding its network throughout 2024, it now includes more than 4,800 public chargers across over 1,000 locations in North America.
This includes 20 ‘Hyper-Fast’ chargers launched at its first indoor charging hub in San Francisco.
Electrify America states that it has contributed to the largest deployment of 350 kilowatts chargers in both the United States and Canada.
The company also notes that it has seen corresponding growth in its customer base, delivering over 600 gigawatt-hours of energy in 2024.
This represents a 65% increase compared to 2023.
It also recorded more than 16 million charging sessions, marking a 50% year-over-year increase.
