Enel X updates EV charging tariffs: lower prices for DC Fast and Ultra fast from May 5

The update focuses on the “Pay Per Use Basic” plan, introducing a new classification of power levels and a revised pricing structure, particularly for direct current (DC) fast and high-power charging (HPC).

Starting May 5, 2025, Enel X will implement changes to its pay-per-use public charging tariffs, applicable at Enel X and Ewiva stations.

According to the company, the current tariff scheme is based on the following categories:

  • AC charging up to 22 kW: €0.69/kWh
  • DC charging from 22 to 150 kW: €0.84/kWh
  • HPC charging from 150 to 350 kW: €0.94/kWh

With the new structure effective May 5, these categories and rates will be revised as follows:

  • AC charging from 0 to 43 kW: €0.69/kWh
  • DC charging from 44 to 99 kW: €0.79/kWh
  • HPC charging from 100 kW and above: €0.89/kWh

This reconfiguration results in reduced costs for two key segments:

  • A 6% decrease in the DC charging range between 44 and 99 kW
  • A 5% reduction for HPC charging above 100 kW

The update reflects an effort to align pricing more closely with the actual performance of charging points.

It also simplifies the categorization by redefining the power thresholds, offering users more clarity and potentially more competitive rates for higher-speed charging.

No changes have been announced for AC charging rates, which remain at €0.69/kWh despite the expanded power range up to 43 kW.

These adjustments follow a broader trend in the e-mobility sector to refine tariff structures in response to evolving infrastructure capabilities and user demand.
