bp pulse is excited to announce the opening of its first electric vehicle (EV) charging site in Massachusetts, located just north of Boston Logan Airport.
The launch builds on bp pulse’s previous announcement of plans to build Gigahubs near airports and other high-demand locations together with Hertz.
“Access to charging at the Hertz maintenance facility near Boston Logan Airport provides them with fast, convenient charging at one of the busiest pick-up locations in the region, as well as being a great resource for all drivers in the area,” indicates Doria Holbrook, EVP Mobility of Hertz.
More sites are slated to launch across the country.
“We’re thrilled to open our first site in Massachusetts. The Boston Gigahub is a significant step in our efforts to build a strategic and robust network of ultrafast chargers in the US,” says Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas.
“Airport locations in particular enable us to offer efficient and convenient charging solutions for EV drivers, rental car customers, and ride-hail drivers alike,” he adds.
The Boston Gigahub, located at Hertz’s parking and maintenance facility (450 William F. McClellan Highway in Boston), features 20 charging bays equipped with a mix of 400 and 150 kilowatts DC fast chargers powered by utility provider Eversource.
“We’re pleased to work with bp pulse as they expand into Massachusetts with this EV charging site that will support the broader Boston Logan Airport economy,” states Sean Tully, Electric Mobility Manager for Eversource.
To celebrate the opening, drivers can access a limited time offer for launch pricing of $0.36/kWh (excluding taxes and fees) when they charge at the Boston site.
With a presence now across 17 states, bp pulse is continuing to install ultrafast chargers at sites in bp’s family of brands, new-to-industry sites, and other destinations to make EV charging convenient and accessible.
