Ewiva, the joint venture between Enel X and the Volkswagen Group, has inaugurated a new ultra-fast charging station at Via Giovanni Lozano 5 in Mazara del Vallo.
Developed in collaboration with Essepiauto and with the support of the local government, this station enhances the region’s electric mobility infrastructure, making EV adoption increasingly convenient.
The new station features three 300 kW charging units, offering a total of six charging points (PoC). Strategically located near a commercial area and close to the motorway junction, it provides a flexible and accessible solution for both residents and tourists.

With this activation, Ewiva now operates 23 ultra-fast charging stations and 72 high-power charging points across Sicily, supporting electric mobility throughout the region.
Mazara del Vallo’s location is particularly relevant for catering to tourist traffic, especially during the summer months, and meeting the growing demand for ultra-fast charging solutions.
“We are thrilled to inaugurate another Ewiva charging station in Mazara del Vallo,” said Daniela Biscarini, CEO of Ewiva.
“This milestone aligns with our mission to build a widespread, accessible charging network across Italy. Sicily plays a crucial role, given the growing demand for sustainable mobility from both residents and tourists. By partnering with Essepiauto, we’ve created a state-of-the-art ultra-fast charging solution that highlights the importance of public-private collaboration in developing a national network. This project exemplifies our commitment to offering safe, high-performance charging services for a seamless and worry-free electric driving experience.”
Paolo Tedesco, Owner of Essepiauto, emphasized the importance of investments in ultra-fast charging infrastructure:
“The automotive market needs structural interventions and support to accelerate customer demand. Ewiva’s investment in our region addresses this need by providing ultra-fast charging opportunities for citizens and tourists, ensuring a comfortable, fast, and sustainable mobility experience. As the Tedesco family and Essepiauto, we are proud to have facilitated Ewiva’s choice of our city for this cutting-edge site, the only one of its kind in Western Sicily, demonstrating the necessity of joint efforts from public and private sectors to deliver high-quality infrastructure and services.”

Salvatore Quinci, the Mayor of Mazara del Vallo, also attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, stating:
“Mazara del Vallo continues its journey as a green city, celebrating this significant investment from Ewiva and the Tedesco family, which reinforces Essepiauto’s forward-thinking vision. Sustainable mobility is now an established reality, and the expansion of dedicated infrastructure like this innovative ultra-fast charging station addresses both entrepreneurial needs and enhances services for our community, tourists, and visitors increasingly moving towards electric vehicles.”
