Galp grows 40% in e-mobility and strengthens B2B solutions

Galp reached 1.4 million charging sessions in 2024 and expands its infrastructure network for corporate fleets in Portugal and Spain.

Galp closed 2024 with a record 1.4 million charging sessions on its Iberian electric mobility network, representing 40% growth compared to the previous year.

This expansion was driven by a network of 6,328 public and private chargers, delivering 25.7 GWh of energy to electric vehicle (EV) users.

In Portugal, 23% of all charges made on the Mobi.E network were carried out using Galp chargers, reinforcing the company’s leading position in this segment.

João Diogo Marques da Silva, co-CEO of Galp, states: “Galp has had the best year in the history of this operation, solidifying its leadership in electric mobility. We were pioneers in this segment and will continue investing to expand our network, offering advanced technology and facilitating customers’ transition to more sustainable mobility.”

The company is currently focused on developing a faster and more accessible charging network, with 21% of its chargers classified as fast and ultra-fast.

Additionally, Galp aims to bring the electric charging experience closer to that of traditional fuel refuelling, improving convenience and efficiency for users.

One of the main pillars of its expansion plan includes the installation of charging hubs along the A1 and A2 motorways, as well as in key urban areas such as Lisbon and Porto, where ten ultra-fast charging stations have already been deployed.

Each of these motorway corridors will have a total power capacity of up to 10 MW, ensuring greater availability and efficiency for EV drivers.

Galp is also investing in the digitalisation of its services, offering customers:

  • Charging payment via the Mundo Galp app.
  • Detailed access to charging point locations and costs.
  • A simplified billing system and Iberian roaming options.

B2B expansion: fleet electrification solutions

Galp’s growth has not been limited to the retail sector; the B2B segment has been a key driver of its 2024 results.

  • The company is supporting major businesses in fleet electrification and decarbonisation across Portugal and Spain.
  • It has launched Galp Frota Corporate, a dual-use card that enables businesses to manage both fuel refuelling and EV charging in a single solution.
  • It has developed digital platforms such as the Frotas Galp portal for consumption monitoring and the Galp Electric portal for private infrastructure management.
  • It also provides DPC (Charging Point Owner) solutions, allowing companies to install EV chargers at employees’ homes, facilitating the transition to electric mobility.
