Greenlane Opens First EV Truck Charging Hub with 40+ Chargers in California

Greenlane inaugurated its flagship commercial EV charging site in Colton, California, securing Nevoya as its first fleet customer and advancing its I-15 corridor project.

Greenlane has officially opened its inaugural advanced charging center for electric trucks in Colton, California, marking the first of three sites forming the I-15 commercial EV charging corridor.

Located at the intersection of Interstates 215 and 10, the facility features over 40 high-speed chargers, including 12 pull-through lanes and 29 bobtail lanes, specifically designed for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).

The site also includes a full amenities building with food and beverage options, restrooms, a lounge, free Wi-Fi, mobile device charging stations, and 24/7 customer support.

Additional services such as office space leasing and truck and trailer parking are available.

Greenlane announced Nevoya, the first zero-emissions electric trucking carrier and technology-driven logistics platform in the U.S., as its first commercial fleet customer.

Nevoya will begin operations at the Colton site in early May 2025 and plans to scale up to 100 electric trucks leveraging Greenlane’s network.

The Colton site was completed within eight months, supported by a $15 million grant from the South Coast Air Quality Management District under the Carl Moyer Zero-Emission Infrastructure Program.

The facility utilizes 41 OEM-agnostic chargers, including CCS 400 kW dual-port chargers with liquid-cooled cables for large Class 8 electric trucks and CCS 180 kW chargers for smaller vehicles.

The infrastructure is designed for future expansion and upgrades to megawatt charging capabilities.

Security measures at the site include 24/7 attendants, security cameras, gated access, and enhanced lighting.

Greenlane plans further expansion along the I-15 corridor, with additional sites expected in Long Beach, Barstow, and Baker, California, subject to site viability assessments.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks were delivered by Greenlane CEO Patrick Macdonald-King; City of Colton Mayor Frank J. Navarro; South Coast Air Quality Management District Board representative and Mayor of Highland Larry McCallon; Daimler Truck North America’s Vice President and Chief of eMobility Rakesh Aneja; and Nevoya Chief Commercial Officer John Verdon.

Greenlane Infrastructure, LLC is a joint venture between Daimler Truck North America, NextEra Energy Resources, and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).

Its mission is to develop a nationwide public zero-emission refueling network for commercial vehicles.

Nevoya specializes in optimizing vehicle utilization, routes, and charging costs, aiming to make electric trucking cost-competitive with traditional diesel operations.
