Rolec EV is a leading electric vehicle charger manufacturer in the United Kingdom (UK).

What makes the company stand out is that it offers a solution for every requirement.

Each sector has its specific needs, and therefore, we have a unique charging unit for each of them,” explains Jon Faglöv, Business Development Manager Europe at Rolec EV, in an interview with Mobility Portal Europe.

“Over the years, we’ve learnt that there is no ‘one-size fits all’ approach to suit everyone,” he adds.

In this regard, the company offers a wide range of solutions, from alternating current (AC) chargers to high-power direct current (DC) units.

The products that Rolec EV offers range from 7.4 to 480 kilowatts, and they even offer one-megawatt direct current chargers.

It is worth mentioning that the company’s main focus is on commercial, semi-public, and public charging.

“Within these, we have sub-segments where our offering is strong,” says Faglöv.

He continues: “This includes fleets, such as taxis and their depots, workplaces, logistics and distribution centres, and last-mile delivery.”

The company also has chargers installed in stadiums and other types of facilities.

Regarding workplace charging, Rolec EV has worked with SKODA, MG, Monster, NHS, HP, KIA, Nottingham City Council, Baxter, BAUER Media Group, Symantec, PayPal, NEXT, DYSON, COSTA COFFEE, among others.

In terms of commercial charging, the company has developed projects alongside McDonald’s, Hilton, IKEA, Lidl, Holiday Inn, Rutland County Council, Premier Inn, NHS, DFS, Heathrow, among many others.

As for fleet charging, they have provided their solutions to NHS, Harrods Aviation, Scottish Water, PERRYS, GRIMME, Lookers, DHL, Amazon, Baxter, Dyson, HP, DPD, among others.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Rolec EV also provides charging solutions for residential developments.

In these types of initiatives, they have worked with SKANSKA, Ryden, REDROW, Taylor Wimpey, Miller Homes, Goodman, Linden Homes, BARRATT Homes, Elan Homes, CALA Homes, Bellway, BEWLEY Homes, among others.

When asked about successful projects they’ve worked on, Faglöv mentions the strategic partnership they formed with Wattif EV, a funding provider and chargepoint operator based in Norway.

In fact, last year, Wattif EV secured 50 million euros from a pan-European investment fund to support its strategy to become one of the leading destination charging providers in Europe.

In this regard, the collaboration enabled greater accessibility for landowners to install charge points on their properties and provided Wattif EV with a more diverse range of hardware to further expand its offering.

By partnering with Rolec EV’s broad range of hardware solutions, the CPO was able to offer its service to companies of various sizes and structures.

“We supplied them with our full range of products, allowing them to offer a turnkey solution to their customers in a short time. It has been very successful,” Faglöv acknowledges.

He adds, “We worked with them in the UK, and now we are expanding together in Europe.”

Why Do Leading Companies Choose Rolec EV?

In addition to offering a unique product for each sector, what stands out about Rolec EV is that it designs, produces, and manufactures its chargers in the UK.

“This is a really strong asset for our customers,” acknowledges Jon Faglöv.

“We operate our own R&D department, which is closely linked to our production facilities. This means that we learn from the experience we gain and continuously innovate to improve our offering,” he adds.

It’s worth mentioning that the company releases new software or product features on a routine basis to enhance the user experience.

“Generally, these improvements are related to accessibility and new regulations,” says Faglöv.

He continues, “New features have been added, such as ‘plug and charge‘ functionality or different types of payment solutions including contactless. We are continuously working on improving the product range and adding more functions.”

Another interesting factor is that Rolec EV has many years of experience in the industry.

“We have been operating and manufacturing products for outdoor use for 34 years, and we’ve been in the e-mobility market for 16 years,” notes Faglöv.

“Customers can buy our technology with the confidence that it will be of high quality,” he assures.

Rolec EV Targets European Expansion

The company, based in the UK, is well into the process of expanding across the rest of Europe.

Among its most interesting markets are the Netherlands and Germany.

“We already have a presence in the Nordic and Baltic regions. In addition, we have an export business in the Middle East,” adds Faglöv.
