Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, is adding new ultra-rapid charging hubs across the capital, including Borehamwood, Hatch End and Stratford, to meet the growing demand from electric vehicle (EV) drivers.
The latest upgrades include the expansion of three existing sites in London, seven new ultra-rapid EV power hubs, and ultra-rapid chargers ranging from 300 to 400 kilowatts.
Additionally, five of these new hubs are located at Morrisons supermarkets, offering convenient charging while shopping.
All of this enables up to 100 miles of range in just ten minutes.
Furthermore, it represents a growth of more than 30% in MFG’s charging network by 2025.
It is worth noting that these initiatives form part of the 400 million pounds investment in electric vehicle infrastructure through to 2030.
The forecourt operator has already installed 1,000 ultra-rapid chargers in over 200 locations and is investing 170 million pounds upgrading its network of forecourts in 2025 alone.
Martin Symes, MFG’s Electric Vehicle Director, states: “By expanding existing sites and bringing new hubs online, we are ensuring that EV drivers have access to the ultra-rapid facilities they need, helping to make electric vehicle ownership more convenient and accessible.”
The expansion supports MFG’s strategic goal to build a nationwide network of ultra-rapid EV hubs, designed to support the UK’s transition to EVs and help address charging accessibility in high-demand urban areas.
This is particularly relevant inside the M25 where the uptake of EV cars is strong, driven by clean air initiatives such as ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) and the London Congestion Charge.
