The City of Morganton has recently added two more electric vehicle (EV) charging stations bringing its total to seven.
These devices are direct current (DC) fast chargers and are located at the Foothills Higher Education Center at 2128 South Sterling Street in Morganton.
As the United States seeks to become more energy efficient, the amount of electric cars has increased across the country.
The funding for this project came in the form of a grant from the NC Volkswagen Settlement that was administered by NCDEQ.
There are two more DC fast charging stations at Martha’s Park located at 200 Collett Street in Morganton.
