Moveo, the perfect sustainability event in Oviedo, starts today

Moveo, organised by the Electric Vehicle Users Association (AUVE) and the Oviedo City Council, begins today. This third edition of the event will bring together electric vehicle test drives, exhibitions, and workshops. It will also feature stands focusing on topics such as circular economy, renewable energy, and sustainable mobility.

The third edition of Moveo begins today, organised by the Electric Vehicle Users Association (AUVE) and the Oviedo City Council.

It will take place from 12 to 14 September at the Oviedo Exhibition and Conference Centre and the surrounding streets, which will be transformed into a sustainability hub thanks to the various activities related to sustainable mobility, smart cities, renewable energy, the circular economy, and the environment.

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14, visitors can explore the different exhibitor stands from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, spread across more than 3,500 square metres of available space, where some of the most important Asturian, national, and international companies will showcase their products and services to attendees.

Visitors will be able to discover the latest innovations from nearly 30 brands in the sector, such as Iberdrola, Porsche, Adarsa, CEPSA, Masnorte Renovables, Capri Bikes, Masymas, ALSA, Renault, FAEN, BYD, Naeco, Wolfast, Feníe Energía, Alimerka, and Bosquia, among others.

Moveo will feature the Renault 5 electric vehicle, and for those interested in passenger transport innovation, attendees will have the opportunity to see an autonomous electric bus from ALSA.

In addition, more than 15 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles will be available for free test drives from brands such as BYD, Mercedes, Smart, MG, Omoda, Hyundai, and Renault.

In total, Moveo will have 35 vehicles on hand to bring sustainable mobility closer to the Asturian population.

Ángel García, president of AUVE, comments: “Moveo aims to create a space capable of bringing together professionals from sustainable mobility, renewable energy, and other sectors driving sustainability, while also engaging with the wider Asturian community.”

Designing the Future: Green, Digital, and Accessible

The first day of Moveo, taking place today, Thursday 12 September, will be aimed at more than 200 professionals and held in a conference format under the theme “Designing the Future: Green, Digital, and Accessible.”

The welcome session, starting at 9:30 a.m., will be led by Ángel García, president of AUVE; Ignacio Cuesta, Councillor for Urban Planning and Management, Environment, Infrastructure, and Strategic Projects of the Oviedo City Council; and Nieves Roqueñí, Councillor for Ecological Transition, Industry, and Economic Development for the Government of Asturias.

Immediately after, José Luis Portela, Director of the Strategic Project Management Programme at IE Business School, will share a series of ideas in a brief yet interesting and inspiring talk entitled “The Future of Mobility and Energy: Opportunities and Business up to 2030.”

Next, the first panel on “Global Challenges: Innovation and Sustainability from Asturias” will begin, featuring Patricia López, Head of the Innovation Centre at ALSA; Clara Rodríguez, Head of Business Development and Internationalisation at SotySolar; José Sicre, Global Materials Development Manager at PMG; José Luis Vázquez, Director of Business Intelligence at Inquieto – GAM; and Jorge Fernández-Mier, Director General of Urban Planning and Environment at Oviedo City Council.

The panel will be moderated by Isaac Pola, Deputy Minister of Industry and Just Transition for the Government of Asturias.

Following this, Ailén Pedrotti, Southern Europe Editor at Mobility Portal, will chat with Irene Castillo, Head of Charging Network Operations at CEPSA, to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to sustainable mobility, as well as the projects being developed by the company.

Around midday, the second panel will begin: “The Value Chain of New Mobility,” with guests such as Alfonso Viejo, Energy Agent at A2 Electricidad – Feníe Energía; Carlos Adell, Solution Manager for E-Mobility at Huawei Digital Power; Fernando Álvarez, General Manager at Mota-Engil Renewing Spain; Álvaro Gutiérrez, Country Manager at Eranovum; and Daniel Pérez, CEO of Zunder.

Carlos García, General Manager of the Asturian Energy Foundation (FAEN), will moderate the discussion.

The next panel will address “Current and Future Business Models” and will be moderated by Carlos Vega, Business Development Director at Conecta.

Participants will include Paz Orviz, Manager of Cogersa; Paula Díaz-Caneja, Director of Sustainability and Quality at Alimerka; Pablo Suárez, CEO at Masnorte Renovables; Francisco del Cid, founder of Bosquia, and a representative from Iberdrola.

Finally, to close the conference, Diego García, E-Performance Manager at Porsche Centre Asturias; Alejandro Álvarez, Manager of Adarsa; and Alfonso Cruz, Manager of Omoda Resnova Motor, will focus on “Opportunities and Challenges of New Mobility,” a debate moderated by Álvaro Sauras, Director of Autofácil.

At 8:00 p.m., a traditional Asturian “espicha” and the Moveo and AUVE awards ceremony will take place at the Oviedo Exhibition and Conference Centre.
