MOVEO wraps up another edition and solidifies its growth alongside the eMobility revolution: Is there a new date already?

On the 12th, 13th, and 14th of September, the event outlined the future of sustainable mobility, renewable energy, smart cities, the circular economy, and talent. Here’s a recap of the experience brought to you by Mobility Portal Group.
MOVEO EVENT 2024

The Oviedo Exhibition and Conference Centre was the meeting point for the public sector, private sector, and the general public, focusing on electric mobility and sustainability, and hosted by MOVEO for the third consecutive year.

To start off, the event kicked off on Thursday, September 12th at 9:30 in the morning with one of the highlights: the professional congress.

More than 150 professionals attended and engaged in stimulating discussions under the theme: “Designing the Future: Green, Digital, and Accessible.”

While outreach was a starting point, the main goal was to delve deeply into all the facets that now make up the global sustainability ecosystem.

Ángel García, President of AUVE, and Jorge Fernández-Mier, General Director of Urbanism and the Environment at the Oviedo City Council, were the ones to open the first day of MOVEO.

Nostalgia took centre stage as they recalled the congress’s early steps through the streets of Oviedo, where the weather played a trick on them, but it marked the beginning of a new adventure.

As time passed, the strength of the congress was consolidated, accelerating and growing “just as electric mobility does.”

And here’s a little preview…

The organisers have scheduled a new MOVEO event for May 2025.

Nieves Roqueñí, Regional Minister for Ecological Transition, Industry, and Economic Development of the Asturias Government, was part of the opening.

Her presentation covered key aspects of public-private collaboration and provided interesting data on the status of the Moves III plan, matters that captured the attention of everyone in attendance.

According to the official, the first and second editions of the aid plan for the purchase of 100% electric vehicles are “almost resolved,” and in an exclusive conversation with Mobility Portal Group, she provided updates on the progress of the third edition.

José Luis Portela, Director of the Strategic Project Management Program at IE Business School, brought his experience and lively insights to the MOVEO stage, raising thought-provoking questions such as: What is the future of mobility and energy? What opportunities will arise in five years?

From his perspective, the reality of electric mobility “is shaped by what you’ve been told,” and he added that it is “a world influenced by economic powers, and if you want independent information, then you’ll have to seek sources individually.”
