The Netherlands launched a new scheme for charging infrastructure.
From Tuesday, 24th September, business owners began receiving support for the construction of charging points for electric commercial vehicles.
This is based on the new subsidy plan in the logistics sector: Subsidy Plan for Private Charging Infrastructure for Businesses (SPRILA).
Business owners can apply for a grant to install charging infrastructure. Funding is also available for consultancy services.
SPRILA focuses on private charging points on privately owned or leased properties.
Entrepreneurs can receive a grant for the purchase and installation of charging points.
SMEs are reimbursed up to 40% of the costs, while larger companies are reimbursed up to 20%.
In addition to SPRILA, there is a public access charging point plan for heavy road transport, which contributes to a national network.
An additional subsidy for battery storage is also possible under this plan, known as the Subsidy Plan for Public Charging Infrastructure for Heavy Transport (SPULA).
There are 42 million euros available for SPRILA in 2024 and 15 million euros for SPULA.
It is worth mentioning that as the number of electric vans and trucks in the Netherlands is growing, more charging options are needed for the transport sector.
The Netherlands is on track to achieve emission-free transport by 2050, at which point many vehicles will be electric.
The plan accelerates the transition to electric logistics transport, such as electric trucks, electric vans, and electric buses.
