With more than 400,000 interoperable charging points accessible via its app, Plenitude aims to ensure that electric vehicle users have quick and easy access to charging.
In this vein, the company continues its international development strategy with the goal of strengthening its presence in Spain, expanding its ultra-fast charging infrastructure in strategic locations and through partnerships with other industry players.
“We are continuing to work towards establishing more agreements with operators across Europe,” says Irene de Miguel Estrabón, Business Development Manager for Spain & Portugal at Plenitude, during the virtual event Voice of E-Mobility Leaders, organised by Mobility Portal Europe.
As she explains, the app enables drivers to quickly and accurately locate a place to charge their electric vehicle.
The application allows users to find and reserve a charger, select the rate that best suits their needs, and pay for the service without a subscription.
In addition, users can track the charging session in real time, view the remaining time, energy delivered and cost, and save their favourite charging points for future use.
Plenitude expands its infrastructure with a focus on ultra-fast charging
Plenitude currently has 21,500 proprietary charging points installed across Europe and maintains an “ambitious growth target.”
De Miguel Estrabón explains that the company is focusing its efforts on ultra-fast charging.
“We are installing chargers of up to 400 kilowatts because we firmly believe that the future of electromobility depends on a public charging infrastructure that is ultra-fast and reliable,” she states.
She adds: “We continue to work with other key stakeholders to expand our network and make sustainable mobility accessible to all.”
Plenitude’s approach is particularly geared towards users who do not have access to home charging, ensuring that they can rely on an efficient and fast public network.

To that end, the company is installing charging points in high-density urban centres, areas near motorways, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping centres, and petrol stations.
“The key is undoubtedly to offer drivers the opportunity to carry out everyday tasks while charging — such as shopping, taking a break during a journey, or grabbing a coffee,” she says.
The Plenitude On the Road app offers a simple and accessible charging experience
Regarding pricing, Plenitude offers differentiated rates based on charger type, all of which are visible in the app and tailored to drivers’ needs according to power and speed.
In Spain, the price for AC charging points (up to 22 kW) is €0.40 per kWh; for DC chargers (up to 75 kW) it is €0.60 per kWh; and for rapid or ultra-fast chargers (above 75 kW) the cost is €0.65 per kWh.
Each of these options includes 60 minutes of free parking after the charging session ends.
What do EV users demand today?
According to Irene de Miguel Estrabón, EV drivers are asking for more powerful chargers, but also batteries with longer range to help reduce charging anxiety.
At the same time, they require a broader and more reliable infrastructure, with strategically placed and always-functional charging points.
“Digitalisation also plays a key role, with apps and platforms that optimise route planning, charger availability, and vehicle management,” she concludes.
