Poland aims for 800% increase in EV charging points by 2030

The Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment anticipates an eightfold increase in the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging points by 2030, reaching 87,000 nationwide.

This projection was outlined during a recent summary of eMobility support initiatives, led by Dorota Zawadzka-Stępniak, President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), and Deputy Minister Krzysztof Bolesta.

The NFOŚiGW’s comprehensive support programme is currently operational.

Under the NaszEauto scheme, more than 20,000 applications have been submitted, representing a total value exceeding PLN 600 million.

Over 50% of the allocated budget has already been reserved, following its recent reduction to PLN 1.18 billion.

In the past week alone, over 1,000 applications were submitted. To manage this volume, NFOŚiGW has increased its application review capacity fourfold.

As of 20 October 2025, new guidelines have been implemented, expanding eligibility to include national parks and NGOs.

Income-based bonuses have been removed, and vehicles from outside the EU are now eligible for subsidies. These represent over 50% of all vehicles submitted for funding.

Regarding future support, Deputy Minister Bolesta indicated no current plans to launch additional programmes.

However, he confirmed that Poland will continue to monitor EU-level regulations to ensure it remains aligned with decarbonisation goals.

In the programme supporting the purchase and leasing of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles (categories N2 and N3), 28 applications have been submitted to date, covering 38 vehicles. The scheme will remain open until mid-2029.

Additionally, the first round of applications for heavy-duty charging infrastructure attracted proposals for 1,700 charging points, with a total value exceeding PLN 2.3 billion.

The initial funding allocation for this round was PLN 1 billion.
