Powerdot successfully concluded a follow-on capital raise, securing a substantial 100 million euros investment.
Led by existing investors Antin Infrastructure Partners and Arié Group, this funding marks a pivotal moment for Powerdot’s expansion.
It underscores its commitment to revolutionizing the elecrtic vehicle (EV) charging landscape across Europe.
Luís Santiago Pinto, CEO of the company, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from Antin Infrastructure Partners and Arié Group.
Pinto states, “With over 5,000 charging points in operation and an additional 10,000 in deployment, this investment will catalyze transformative growth, enabling us to expand our network and contribute to the evolution of sustainable mobility.”
Anand Jagannathan, Antin NextGen partner, says, “With this capital raise through our NextGen strategy, Powerdot will further expand the availability of affordable, fast charging stations to the public and foster the transition towards a more sustainable future.”
“Powerdot represents the infrastructure of tomorrow – a next generation of critical infrastructure that is sustainable, scalable, and connected,” he adds.
David Arié, Board Member at Arié Group, states, “As an early investor in Powerdot, the Arié Group could not be more excited to be part of this capital raise.”
“The strong operational focus of the Powerdot team and the tremendous growth in 2023 led us to double down on our commitment. We proudly continue to support the growth of the Powerdot project for sustainable mobility,” he adds.
The substantial investment follows Powerdot’s exceptional growth in 2023, marked by a 201 per cent increase in operational charging points and a 218 per cent rise in kWh consumption.
Presently, the firm boasts over 5,000 active charging points across 1,300 locations, with plans to deploy nearly 10,000 charging points across 1,400 locations.
This capital infusion will fuel the expansion of Powerdot’s charging infrastructure, drive technological advancements, and strengthen partnerships to enhance the EV user experience.
In its home market, Portugal, the company has become a benchmark for partners and users, with over 1,300 operational charging points.
Similarly, it maintains a strong presence in France with more than 3,700 operational charging points, experiencing a significant year-on-year growth of 500 percent in kWh consumption.
Moreover, in Spain, it has activated over 300 charging points in 2023 alone, representing a significant advancement in market penetration.
Furthermore, it is rapidly expanding its presence in Belgium and Poland through strategic partnerships and ambitious implementation plans.
