Qwello France Secures Landmark Deal to Install Nearly 400 Charging Points

Qwello France has been awarded a major public tender by SYDESL, the energy syndicate of Saône-et-Loire, to deliver one of the region’s most ambitious eMobility projects to date.

In partnership with ZUNDER, Qwello will deploy 376 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across 63 municipalities.

This project follows an Appel à Initiative Privée (AIP) launched by SYDESL, which manages eMobility services on behalf of all municipalities in the department.

The tender was based on a detailed analysis of the region’s EV charging needs and aims to ensure long-term, equitable access to public charging infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.

A Comprehensive and Phased Rollout

Qwello will install 266 new AC charging points and replace 110 existing devices currently managed by SYDESL, integrating them into its network with Qwello hardware and software.

Qwello plans to install 98 additional new charge points in the first year, with full network completion targeted for 2028.

In parallel, ZUNDER will deploy a dedicated ultra-fast charging station with six DC points, ensuring fast-charging options for high-traffic transit corridors and long-distance drivers.

Local Focus and Long-Term Commitment

The network will cover 63 municipalities, including 28 urban and 35 rural communities—underscoring Qwello’s belief in the importance of strong public charging infrastructure beyond densely populated cities.

To support the rollout and long-term operation, Qwello will work with local subcontractors, ensuring regional economic benefit and efficient execution.

Qwello already has a strong presence in the department, with an existing network of 22 charge points in Le Creusot and seven in Mâcon, giving the company a solid local foundation for the broader deployment.

Strengthening France’s Charging Network

This win represents Qwello France’s largest public tender to date, bringing the company’s total number of contracted charge points in France to over 800.

Following earlier tenders—such as 150 charge points in Ille-et-Vilaine—and the recent launch of Qwello’s first location in Paris, this project reinforces the company’s central role in France’s eMobility transition.
