On Thursday, April 10 at 11:30 a.m., a new ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station will be inaugurated in Piazza Aldo Moro, in the town of Le Sieci (Pontassieve).
The project is promoted by Ewiva, the joint venture between Enel X and Volkswagen Group dedicated to accelerating the development of electric mobility across Italy.
The new station is equipped with two 150 kW charging columns, offering a total of four charging points (PoC). It promises a high-speed, reliable charging experience for all electric vehicle drivers passing through the area.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Pontassieve, Carlo Boni, as well as representatives from Ewiva and Enel Group’s external relations department. Technical and operational details of the station will be presented during the event.
Sieci was selected as a strategic location to support Ewiva’s goal of creating a widespread high-power charging network across the country. The initiative aims to facilitate medium- and long-distance electric travel while promoting cleaner, more sustainable transportation.
This new hub operates on direct current (DC) technology, significantly reducing charging times and increasing energy efficiency, especially for newer-generation electric vehicles.
With this opening, Ewiva reinforces its commitment to building a comprehensive network of high-speed charging stations throughout Italy, contributing to the European Union’s decarbonization and transport electrification goals.
