A few days ago, Spanish electric vehicle (EV) charging operator (CPO) Eranovum formalised a major partnership with Les Mousquetaires, the group behind Intermarché, Bricomarché, Bricorama, Brico Cash, Netto, and Roady.
Already active in Spain and Belgium, the CPO is now placing France at the heart of its strategy.
The agreement covers 592 stores across France, with the potential to install nearly 3,000 points between 2025 and 2028.
The company plans to install 2,500 points by 2027, mainly in car parks equipped with solar canopies. These will generate the electricity needed to power the network directly.
“Our partnership with Les Mousquetaires is a major milestone in our expansion in France, where we have big ambitions,” says Hugues Lom, Eranovum’s Country Director for France.
The upcoming stations will offer power outputs ranging from 22 to 150 kilowatts (kW) and will all be supplied with renewable electricity.
Eranovum is overseeing the entire process—from initial investment to operation and maintenance—at no cost to the stores.
The operator is addressing a key challenge: expanding access to EV charging in everyday locations.
This marks a crucial step in accelerating its presence in France, which still lags behind in public charging infrastructure, despite over 175,000 points already in place.
Shopping centres, supermarkets, and leisure areas are strategic locations to democratise electric mobility and support the transition of the vehicle fleet.
For their part, the Les Mousquetaires brands also benefit: they can offer a highly anticipated service to customers without any upfront investment or maintenance costs, as the operator handles everything.
