At Power2Drive Europe 2025, Sungrow Charging introduced the new IDC480E-C, a 480kW ultra-fast modular charger designed for flexible deployment across compact urban areas and large fleet depots.
The solution complements the IDC480E Satellite and a wide portfolio of AC and DC charging options to address varying operational demands.
According to Robert von Wahl, Director EV Charging Europe at Sungrow, the IDC480E-C marks “a significant milestone” in the development of charging infrastructure, highlighting its modular scalability, high efficiency, and low maintenance requirements.
The IDC480E-C features Sungrow’s patented Isolated Air-Cooling Technology, comprising a sealed, dust-free chamber for efficient heat dissipation.
It also includes anti-corrosion protection for reliable operation both indoors and outdoors. Its lifecycle is enhanced by AI-assisted management, targeting over ten years of service life and optimising total cost of ownership.
The system is powered by Sungrow’s proprietary 40kW Power Module, offering more than 97% efficiency, and built with strict quality control and supply chain security.
Scalable architecture and simplified maintenance
The charger’s expandable design enables operators to increase power output or add dispensers without replacing core equipment.
Public operators and logistics companies can scale to 240kW, 320kW, 360kW, 400kW, or the full 480kW, adapting to a wide range of EV types.
Optional dispenser configurations include up to four air-cooled connectors or up to three liquid-cooled connectors, ensuring flexibility and high uptime. Its intelligent power distribution enables higher station throughput and reliable service delivery.
Smart sector integration
The IDC480E-C integrates with Sungrow’s Beyond Charging Solution, a combined PV + ESS + EV charger system under a single brand.
This addresses limited grid capacity and ensures resilience during outages, offering a more autonomous and sustainable charging solution.
Equipped with AI-based power management and a system-optimised design, the IDC480E-C aims to deliver maximised ROI through reduced total ownership costs and faster turnaround times.
