The government has tasked the Swedish Energy Agency with providing climate premiums for light electric trucks.
The purpose is to promote the introduction of certain vehicles to the market, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to noise reduction and a better climate.
The eligible cost consists of the price difference between the light electric truck and the nearest comparable vehicle.
The aid can be granted up to 30 percent of the eligible cost, but no more than 50,000 Swedish kronor per light electric truck.
Companies, municipalities, and regions intending to purchase a new light electric truck, defined as a unit registered as a truck in the Swedish Transport Agency’s traffic registry with a maximum total weight of 3.5 tonnes, can apply for the climate premium.
Furthermore, it must operate on electricity or electricity produced from hydrogen through fuel cells.
Applicants must be able to provide an invoice issued to their own company. The same company must be listed as the vehicle owner in the traffic registry.
These rules apply regardless of ownership (leasing contract or direct purchase).
For vehicles used under lease agreements, the applicant must be listed as the vehicle owner in the traffic registry.
