Telepass, a leader in smart mobility and electronic toll collection across Italy and Europe, has introduced a new solution for its customers: Park & Charge.
Telepass customers can now leave their vehicles in a dedicated parking area and simultaneously charge their electric or plug-in hybrid cars during their flights.
Located on the first floor of the Multipiano B building (opposite Terminals T1 and T3) at Leonardo da Vinci Airport, the electrified parking facility includes 74 spaces, with 32 reserved exclusively for Telepass users.
Seamless and Digital Experience
The Park & Charge service offers several benefits:
• Unified payment for parking and electric charging via the Telepass On Board Unit, allowing seamless access with a single “beep” through designated lanes.
• Reserved spaces equipped with charging stations that eliminate the need for customers to bring their own cables, as the stations come fully equipped.
• Automatic charging, ensuring customers enjoy a hassle-free experience.
“With Park & Charge, we want to honour our promise to drivers: to let them pass through with just one ‘beep’ and make the most of their time,” says Aldo Agostinelli, Chief Consumer Sales & Marketing Officer at Telepass.
“This new service allows Telepass customers to pay a single all-inclusive tariff for parking and electric charging. It’s another example of true innovation, aligning with our mission to promote smoother and more sustainable mobility while offering exclusive services daily,” he adds.
Marilena Blasi, Chief Commercial Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, states: “We are confident that introducing Park & Charge will further enhance the travel experience for passengers at Fiumicino Airport.”
He continues: “As a true innovation platform, the airport is committed to experimenting with sustainable mobility solutions, supported by ADR Mobility’s role as a Charging Point Operator (CPO). These solutions could later be extended to other airports and locations in Italy.”
Telepass’ Evolution and Vision
Telepass has long integrated parking into its services, beginning in 2010. With partnerships spanning over 400 locations in Italy and more than 900 in France, Spain, and Portugal, it offers the most extensive network nationwide.
Park & Charge represents the first step toward the creation of “Smart Hubs”—dedicated areas offering a range of services through fully automated access, usage, and payment enabled solely by the Telepass On Board Unit.
This solution is ideal for high-traffic infrastructures such as airports, intermodal stations, and urban parking facilities, enhancing service standards and providing added value for customers.
