Autonomous Communities in Spain are playing a key role in expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
In recent weeks, they have announced new tenders aimed at furthering the transition to sustainable electric mobility.
This fosters confidence among businesses and citizens in adopting this technology.
According to the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE), 1,905 publicly accessible charging points have been installed and activated in the second quarter of 2024.
This equates to approximately 20 “refueling” stations daily, contributing to a national network that now exceeds 34,000 chargers.

The municipality of Vilallonga de Ter seeks to install, maintain, and operate electric vehicle charging stations with a project valued at 100,000 euros.
This includes placing two points for every two parking spaces in Vilallonga de Ter and Tregurà, and one for every two in La Roca and Abella.
The deadline for submitting bids is July 31, 2024, at 18:59.
In Burguillos del Cerro, Badajoz, the municipality also launches a tender for the installation of two charging points with 22 kW and 11 kW sockets.
With an estimated amount of 23,521.51 euros and fifty-one cents, this includes implementing chargers within two municipal buildings.
The submission period extends until July 30, 2024, at 23:59.
In Cala d’Or, under the framework of the European Union-funded Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, a tender opens for the supply and installation of two dual “refueling” stations and two photovoltaic solar pergolas.
Valued at approximately 110,381.3 euros, this project aims to integrate energy self-consumption solutions with electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Applications can be submitted until July 26, 2024, at 13:59.
In Tenerife, a technical-economic study is initiated in several barracks to increase the electrical power necessary for deploying zero and low-emission vehicle charging points.
This tender, valued at 11.214,95 euros, aims to ensure that military installations can support the necessary charging infrastructure.
The deadline for submitting bids is July 23, 2024, at 14:00.
The municipality of Güímar, also in Tenerife, announces a concession for the supply and installation of a fast charging station.
With a budget of 28,105.63 euros, this project has an execution period from August 5 to September 30, 2024, with applications accepted until July 18, 2024, at 23:59 (22:59 Canary time).
Navarra also joins this wave of public tenders under the RICCO initiative, which includes the installation of nine charging points.
Valued at 110,743.8 euros, this initiative aims to strengthen infrastructure in the region, with an execution period of three months and a bid submission deadline set for July 20, 2024, at 23:59.
Fuengirola City Council launches a tender for the supply, installation, and maintenance of nine charging points, under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
With an estimated amount of 91,830.57 euros, the submission period ended yesterday at 23:59.
Palma City Council opens a tender for the supply of a temporary hydrogen dispenser for EMT-Palma buses.
With an estimated value of 324,352.6 euros, this project has a 17-month execution period and aims to integrate hydrogen mobility into public transport infrastructure.
Applications must be submitted by August 13, 2024, at 9:00.
What are the latest awarded eMobility tenders?
Among the contracts already awarded, Madrid stands out for developing a charging station at 47 Pirotecnia Street, awarded to ACCIONA RECARGA S.L.
This has a base budget without taxes of one hundred sixty-eight thousand euros.
Simultaneously, Adif has awarded Repsol Comercial the installation of 1,079 charging points throughout Spain, including 212 in Andalusia, which represents about twenty percent of the total.
With a value of eighteen million two hundred seventy thousand euros (including VAT), the contract has a 30-month execution period.
Moreover, Repsol has also won the bid to manage Ibil‘s 5,800 chargers in Spain and Portugal.
Acciona, on the other hand, has also been awarded the contract for the electric vehicle charging point network in Arroyo, which plans to install 96 spaces distributed throughout the municipality.
This is a public domain concession contract for the installation of a charging network.
For this, the company presented the best offer in the tender, at a price of one thousand five hundred sixty-seven euros and seventy cents per space per year.
This means that the City Council will receive a return of more than one hundred fifty thousand euros annually.
