How to Drive the Future of Urban Mobility? Vectalia Reveals It at Global Mobility Call

Vectalia Group leads emission-reduction initiatives, currently operating over 50 fully electric urban buses and integrating state-of-the-art hybrid vehicles into its fleet in recent years.
Vectalia Global Mobility Call

The Vectalia Group will, for the first time, have its own stand at the Global Mobility Call, organised by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with Smobhub, from 19th to 21st November.

During these days, the company, which specialises in mobility services across Spain and certain regions in France and Morocco, will take the opportunity to present its comprehensive range of mobility solutions and services for cities.

With a fleet exceeding 1,000 buses and coaches, Vectalia provides public transport services across urban, metropolitan, and intercity routes for various local and regional administrations.

The group leads emission-reduction initiatives, currently operating over 50 fully electric urban buses and integrating state-of-the-art hybrid vehicles into its fleet in recent years.

As a key differentiator in urban mobility services, Vectalia boasts expertise and capacity in managing services that complement public transport, including regulated surface parking, parking facility management, urban goods distribution (DUM), and the management of transport hubs and stations.

In these areas, Vectalia currently operates more than 8,000 parking spaces, over 300 DUM routes across 15 Spanish cities, and facilitates the transit of over 14 million travellers through its transport terminals annually.

Vectalia to Lead a Roundtable Discussion at the Fair

On 20th November, from 13:20 to 14:00 in the Ágora CONNECT space at the Global Mobility Call, Dionisio González, Director of Advocacy & Outreach at UITP, will moderate a roundtable discussion.

The session will include contributions from Berta Barrero, CEO of Vectalia, Miguel Ruiz, Manager of EMT Málaga, and Alfonso Sánchez, General Director of EMT Madrid, who will explore “Global Sustainability Commitments through Urban Mobility.”

According to González, as the world prepares for the 2025 renewal of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement’s climate commitments, it is “the moment to unleash the true potential of the public transport sector.”

In the NDCs, countries commit to taking measures to combat global warming and adapt to a changing climate.

“If used correctly, they could be our path out of the current global climate crisis and make public transport the backbone of urban mobility. This is not just a matter of environmental urgency, but also a significant step towards sustainable urban development, inclusive growth, and equity,” González notes.

From the CEOs’ perspectives, the session will explore ways to ensure reliable, safe, and accessible public transport, complemented by active mobility as the fastest means of decarbonising daily transportation.

“This is essential to improving our cities, our lives, and our planet,” González adds.

Facing the 21st-century challenge for smart and sustainable cities to accelerate their transformation towards increasingly interconnected, green, safe, and universally accessible mobility, Vectalia is preparing an ambitious transformation, innovation, and growth plan. This plan aims to meet customer needs with a comprehensive service offering that supports the efficient management of public services and caters to citizens’ evolving mobility requirements.
