DRIVECO announced the commissioning of 13 new electric vehicle charging stations across France during the month of April.
The new infrastructure has been deployed in various parts of the country, including Lille, Nice, Clermont-Ferrand and Quimper, reinforcing the company’s strategy to extend its geographical reach in strategic locations.
According to the company, this rollout is part of its plan to ensure broader and more reliable access to electric charging, supporting the shift toward sustainable mobility.
The announcement comes amid fiscal policy changes that could impact the adoption of electric vehicles in France. As of May 1st, the exemption from vehicle registration tax for electric vehicles has been eliminated in most regions.
Only the Hauts-de-France region has opted to maintain this incentive, while the rest of the country has withdrawn it—potentially posing a challenge to the growth of electric vehicle adoption.
In response, DRIVECO stated that it is closely monitoring the impact of these government decisions, emphasizing that maintaining a supportive environment is crucial to accelerating the energy transition and decarbonizing transport.
Despite these policy shifts, the company reaffirmed its commitment to deploying a reliable and accessible charging network across the country.
