Atlante’s milestone: Winning tender for over 90 ultra-fast EV charging points in Italy

Atlante's forthcoming ultra-fast charging stations, designed by Bertone Design and featuring integrated solar panels and energy storage systems, will soon be deployed along Italian highways, enhancing the infrastructure for electric mobility.
ATLANTE

Atlante, the company of NHOA Group dedicated to the fast and ultra-fast charging network for electric vehicles (EV), has secured its first major tender in Italy.

This achievement involves the design, construction, and management of over 90 ultra-fast charging points along the highways managed by Autostrade per l’Italia (ASPI).

The new stations will be strategically located in eight service areas across the ASPI-managed roads, featuring an exclusive design by the renowned international firm Bertone Design.

Each station will also incorporate solar panels and energy storage systems, marking a pioneering move in Italy.

This makes Atlante the first independent operator to install its charging stations on the ASPI highway network, enhancing the country’s road infrastructure towards greater electrification.

The company’s ultra-fast points, boasting capabilities of up to 400 kilowatts, will enable EVs to recharge within minutes.

These will be evenly distributed across the national territory, particularly in key regions such as Lombardy, Veneto, Tuscany, Campania, and Apulia.

Each one will be equipped with photovoltaic panels that cover the station, integrated with storage systems to efficiently manage the solar energy produced on-site.

This innovative approach ensures Atlante can provide an optimal charging experience powered entirely by renewable energy.

The distinctive design of its stations, characterised by the iconic canopy designed by Bertone Design, will incorporate several advanced technological solutions.

These include systems to detect unauthorized parking of internal combustion engine vehicles, intelligent lighting and signage, Wi-Fi connectivity, digital information totems, and a 24-hour video surveillance system.

Stefano Terranova, CEO of Atlante, states: “Our mission is to contribute to achieving zero-emission mobility in Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal.”

“This award represents a further step after the 87 fast and ultra-fast charging points on the French highways for VINCI Autoroutes and consolidates Atlante’s position as the main independent operator in Southern Europe in the development and management of fast and ultra-fast charging networks on highway infrastructures,” he adds.

Gabriele Tuccillo, CEO of Atlante Italia, indicates: “Increasing charging stations on Italian highways is a concrete response to concerns about the compatibility of electric vehicles with long-distance travel”

“These new ultra-fast stations increase Atlante’s presence in strategic Italian infrastructures, from major airports to ring roads and major highways, allowing Atlante customers to recharge throughout the national territory without further worries,” he adds.

The company’s stations will be accessible 24/7, accommodating people with reduced mobility and featuring POS terminals for bank card payments.

These will be usable by all electric vehicles and compatible with every charging standard and eMobility service provider.
