Pod Point is proud to announce the start of its international expansion with a launch in Spain, partnering with SeisSolar to introduce its Solo 3S home charging system.
SeisSolar, with a network of more than 1,500 professional customers (including warehouses and installers) and agreements with large retailers such as Leroy Merlin and Bauhaus, will be responsible for the distribution, marketing and after-sales service of the Solo 3S units in Spain.
The company, founded in 2011, stocks solar panels, photovoltaic inverters, batteries, electric vehicle (EV) chargers and more, to meet the needs of its specialised installer network.
The Solo 3S is solar-integrated, enabling customers to future-proof their homes and charge their EV for free at times with their solar panels.
The charger has been modified to make it suitable to the warmer weather of the Spanish climate, with a polycarbonate exterior designed to last.
Pod Point offers its customers control of their charging through the Pod Point App, where the user can schedule charges and perform over-the-air updates.
The Solo 3S is compatible with all commercially available electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and comes with a three-year warranty as standard.
Melanie Lane, CEO at Pod Point, comments: “Our entry into the Spanish Market represents another important milestone in Pod Point’s strategy and creates further momentum in building scale and incremental revenue for the Group.“
“Spain is an attractive market for Pod Point and one which we are well positioned to enter. We have a great launch partner in SeisSolar and will take advantage of their strong relationships with national retailer groups and large installer network,” she adds.
Val Geary, VP of International at Pod Point, states: “We are delighted to partner with SeisSolar to bring our award-winning home charging system to a new European market for the first time.”
He continues: “This represents a huge opportunity for Pod Point to make EV driving easy and affordable in Spain, just as we have done for over 15 years in the United Kingdom (UK).“
Miguel Navarro, CEO at SeisSolar, also says: “The demand for EVs in Spain has grown significantly over the last few years, and we hear first-hand that drivers are looking for a simple way to charge their vehicle and tap into renewable energy.”
“Pod Point is bringing their home charging system to the Spanish market at the perfect moment and we’re proud to partner with them to offer drivers a solution for reliable EV charging,” he adds.
The first step in Pod Point’s international expansion comes just one month after the announcement of a significant milestone: becoming the first charging provider to install 250,000 EV chargers in the UK, achieved over its 15-year history.
