BYD announced in a statement that it has reached an agreement with the Emil Frey Group to distribute and sell the range of electric cars from the Chinese manufacturer in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The units are expected to be available for purchase from the second quarter of 2024.

Both firms indicate that this partnership represents “a significant milestone” as it heralds the beginning of “a new era” for the manufacturer’s electric vehicles in the automotive market of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

BYD states that by selecting Emil Frey as its distributor for these two countries, it has shown its confidence in the Swiss automotive group and its experience as an importer and distributor of automobiles.

Therefore, it expects that “the combination of innovative technology, market experience, and proven values in interactions with customers and distributors will lay the groundwork for pioneering commitment to electromobility in Switzerland and Liechtenstein,” the statement said.

Worldwide, BYD indicates that it has produced more than 6.5 million new energy vehicles, bolstering the brand’s credentials as it enters new markets in Europe.
