The Secret to Success: CCV Unveils a Formula to Accelerate CPOs’ Market Entry

The European payment solutions provider CCV showcased its new product at the London EV Show, promising to ease the workload for CPOs. What does it involve, and what benefits does it offer?

During the London EV Show, CCV showcased its latest solution: a cloud-based payment terminal integration designed in compliance with the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol.

“This enables a faster time-to-market for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) with our terminals,” explains Pieter Peene, CCV’s Product Manager, in an interview with Mobility Portal Europe.

In this context, the company offers what it describes as an “end-to-end solution.”

“Next to our connections with the payment network, banks, and acquirers, we also provide a ready to use payment terminal, ensuring a complete solution for our clients,” says Pieter.

He further clarifies: “We handle the integration with the Charge Point Management System (CPMS) and take care of the payment terminal interface, reducing the workload for integrators.”

CCV ensures that its entire portfolio of terminals is compatible with this solution.

The only thing a CPO needs to worry about is using a CPMS that is compatible with our products,” adds Pieter.

This solution, based on the OCPI protocol, is currently fully integrated with Charge Point’s platform be.ENERGISED, which is hardware-independent and cloud-based.

This enables an enhanced customer experience in a simple and efficient way.

“This integration is already in place, and we already started the first installations in the field,” reveals Pieter.

Demand for Payment Terminals Grows in the UK Following New Regulation

The electric vehicle (EV) charging market continues to evolve as governments introduce new regulations to drive the transition to sustainable mobility. The United Kingdom (UK) is no exception.

On 24 November, new legislation came into force requiring all public chargers to, among other things, provide seamless payment options.

Under this regulation, new charging points with a capacity of eight kilowatts or more, as well as existing fast-charging (more than 50 kilowatts), must offer contactless payment options.

Pieter explains that this legislative change has led to strong demand for fast and effective payment solutions. And this is where the OCPI-integrated payment terminals are the ideal solution.

Most customers are asking us for a quick integration of our payment terminals,” says Pieter.

In this context, CCV is ramping up its presence in the UK.

Future Plans and International Expansion

The UK is not the only market where CCV is aiming to expand its footprint.

Pieter reveals that the company plans to attend EuroCIS, which will take place from 16 to 20 February 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, as well as Power2Drive, on 7-9 May 2025 in Munich, Germany

EuroCIS focuses on technological solutions for the retail sector, particularly point-of-sale systems, payment technology, and automation, while Power2Drive is one of the main events for international EV charging players.

In addition, CCV will also be present at the Nordic EV Summit, set to be held on 9–10 April 2025 in Oslo, Norway.
