Hyundai has taken a significant step towards making electric energy more affordable and convenient for electric vehicle owners by announcing a series of enhancements to its Charge myHyundai charging service.

These improvements include reduced prices at the high-performance IONITY fast charging stations, flexible payment options, and the introduction of smart rates from October 1, 2023.

Now, electric vehicle drivers can benefit from a rate of 0.69 euros per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity in the rapidly expanding IONITY fast charging station network, as opposed to the previous 0.79 euros per kWh.

Additionally, Hyundai offers an optional package called IONITY Premium, which can now be cancelled on a monthly basis, further reducing the price to 0.54 euros per kWh.

This will make charging a Hyundai electric vehicle even more affordable.

The IONITY Premium package, ideal for frequent travelers, offers a significant price reduction, dropping from 0.64 to 0.54 euros per kWh, and now comes with a minimum term of just one month instead of three.

This makes the offer attractive for both local electric vehicle owners and tourists traveling across Europe in their electric cars for a few weeks.

Hyundai will also introduce a new smart rate from October 1, 2023, with a basic monthly fee of 4.99 euros, one-time registration costs of 7.49 euros, and a 0 euro activation fee.

The price per kWh at AC and DC charging stations will be 15 percent lower than the previous rate, depending on the respective charging station operator.

At IONITY stations, the rate will be 0.69 euros per kWh under the smart rate.

Jürgen Keller, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Deutschland GmbH, commented, “To further increase the acceptance of electric vehicles, we must continuously improve the charging infrastructure. The expansion of public access stations must be accompanied by attractive prices,”

“Our Charge myHyundai charging service sets the standard and makes electric energy even more attractive,” he added.

In addition to these rate improvements, Hyundai is also committed to making charging more convenient.

They have introduced the “Plug & Charge” feature, allowing the charging process to start automatically as soon as the charging station cable is connected to the vehicle in the corresponding columns, with no need for additional authorization through the Charge myHyundai app or charging card.

This enhances the charging convenience for Hyundai electric vehicle owners.

Whether you drive a compact KONA Elektro or the larger IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models, Hyundai allows electric vehicle owners to register for the exclusive Charge myHyundai charging service and select a tariff that suits their individual needs.

In addition to attractive conditions for all public charging stations, customers benefit from pricing advantages at more than 2,700 charging points across Europe provided by IONITY, a partner of Hyundai Motor Group.

With these innovations, Hyundai is taking a significant step towards making electric mobility more affordable and convenient, promising a brighter future for electric vehicles and energy sustainability in Europe and beyond.
