CTEK and APCOA partner to revolutionise EV charging in UK car parks

CTEK and APCOA Partner to Revolutionise EV Charging in UK Car Parks

CTEK and APCOA have announced a ground-breaking partnership aimed at revolutionising electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in car parks across the United Kingdom.

This collaboration will see the installation of CTEK’s state-of-the-art CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3) units in APCOA-managed car parks, significantly enhancing EV charging capabilities across the nation.

APCOA manages a vast network of 1.8 million parking spaces across 13 countries.

Kim Challis, APCOA’s Regional Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, says: “This partnership with CTEK enables us to offer our customers the latest in EV charging technology and functionality, combined with APCOA’s exceptional operational management and customer service.”

By integrating CTEK’s advanced charging technology, the partnership aims to meet the growing demand for reliable and efficient EV charging solutions.

The initiative will deploy fast-charging units capable of delivering up to 22 kilowatts of power, substantially increasing EV charging capacity at key locations throughout the UK.

Currently, APCOA’s UK car parks boast over 1,000 EV charging points, with plans to install more than 300 additional points this year.

These charging points serve a variety of critical destinations, including train stations, hospitals, educational institutions, hospitality venues, retail centres, local government offices, and airports.

The initial implementation phase includes installations in car parks managed by Hillingdon Council in West London and 37 train station car parks operated by APCOA for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR).

CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3: the future of EV charging

Key features of the CC3 include:

  • 22 kilowatts Dual Charging: Capable of delivering up to 22 kilowatts of power, the CC3 units provide fast and efficient EV charging.
  • “Plug & Charge” Technology: Automatic vehicle identification simplifies the charging process, enhancing user convenience.
  • OCPP 2.0.1 Compliance: Compatibility with the latest Open Charge Point Protocol ensures interoperability and seamless communication with various systems.
  • Robust Design: Featuring tamper-proof housing and advanced cybersecurity measures, the CC3 units are built for durability and security.
  • Ease of Installation and Use: Designed for straightforward installation and operation, making them ideal for large-scale deployments.}

CTEK was honoured as EV Charge Point Manufacturer of the Year at the 2023 UK E-Mobility Awards.
