Elli Unveils Flexpole Plus 150 kW Charger and Partners with UNITI’s 8,600 Fuel Stations

At Power2Drive Europe 2025, Elli launched its upgraded battery-buffered fast charger and announced a strategic agreement with UNITI to deploy EV charging at over 8,600 German service stations.

At the Power2Drive Europe 2025 trade fair, Elli a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group specialized in charging and energy solutions – introduced the Flexpole Plus, an enhanced version of its battery-buffered fast charging system, and announced a strategic partnership with UNITI, the association representing over 8,600 service stations in Germany.

The new charger is designed to facilitate e-mobility in public spaces, businesses, and fleets without requiring costly grid upgrades.

With its integrated battery system, the Flexpole Plus connects to low-voltage grids and delivers up to 150 kW of power. This enables faster and more cost-effective deployment compared to conventional high-power charging stations.

Key technical enhancements of the Flexpole Plus include:

Modular payment terminal: supports integration with multiple payment service providers (PSPs), enabling EC card, credit card, and mobile payment compatibility.

Smart energy management: features an enhanced ModBus system for optimized load balancing and integration with existing energy control platforms.

Customizable user interface (HMI): allows branding and includes an advertising display screen, offering operators an additional revenue stream.

Efficient thermal control: newly designed cooling circuits improve system stability and reduce energy consumption, contributing to more sustainable operation.

Alongside the product launch, Elli confirmed its partnership with UNITI Bundesverband EnergieMittelstand e.V. to install fast charging infrastructure across service stations nationwide.

According to the official statement, the initiative aims to transform traditional fueling points into energy hubs for electric mobility.

Thomas Daiber, e-mobility consultant and Hubject co-founder, emphasized during the event that combining flexible charging technologies like the Flexpole Plus with existing networks such as fuel stations “opens new market opportunities.”

The collaboration with UNITI will enable a faster transition through an already established and widespread service station network.

The initiative aligns with the Volkswagen Group’s broader goal of expanding its e-mobility ecosystem through not only vehicle offerings but also integrated energy solutions, including generation, storage, and intelligent charging.

Elli currently manages a network of over 600,000 charging points in Europe and continues to scale up with modular and scalable infrastructure.
